Step 1 – Your First Consultation
Assessing your current state of health
Your initial consultation is the beginning of In Focus’s unique 3-step process to supporting you with achieving and maintaining your health goals. At this consultation, your healthcare practitioner will go over your New Client Intake Forms with you to begin to get an overall picture of where you are now with your current state of health. Although you may have requested a specific treatment, your healthcare practitioner may also suggest other treatments and assessments that may be required. Once you and your health care practitioner discuss your current state of health, Step 2 can then proceed.
Step 2 – Creating and starting your customised healing and wellness plan
The focus of this step is creating and starting your customised healing and wellness plan. Together, you and your healthcare practitioner will determine the priority approaches relevant to your health needs, which may include the following:
- traditional Chinese medicine
- acupuncture
- naturopathy
- herbal and nutritional medicine
- FlameTree: the personal development & healing system
- frequency therapy using Healy and Guardian
- establishing your food intake framework
- relaxation techniques
- cupping, gua sha (myofascial scraping) or remedial massage
- biomesotherapy
- dry needling
- reiki
- essence acupuncture using the pro·m·emo Essences
- universal emotional freedom technique (UEFT)
- health promotion.
What occurs after your initial consultation
We will organise your second consultation as we continue to focus on your main issue. From our experience, you should start seeing changes within three treatments.
Step 3 – the long-term aim of self-empowerment.
Although the initial focus is addressing the issue that brought you to us, our aim goes beyond this to assist you to become self-sufficient in managing your health and wellness so that you can be the best version of yourself. We all have the capacity to improve our wellness and develop ourselves so that we can be our best. Achieving this is the focus of Step 3. In this step, you will become aware of empowering choices and the prerequisites your body and mind need to build resilience and create ease within yourself.
Step 3 aims to reorientate your current state of dis-ease and dis-harmony towards a state of ease and harmony. By doing this, we create the opportunity to regain our clarity to the boundless joy of life. Depending on your unique situation, it may take up to five sessions to assist you through the processes involved with becoming aware that enables you to make choices that orientate your actions towards the direction to ‘be your best’.
Once you start Step 3, based on neuroplasticity research, repeating and directing your attention towards the desired outcome of ‘being your best’ creates the possibility for this to become your dominating neural pathway. This will be explained in more detail in your consultations.
How long will I be in the clinic?
For your initial consultation, if you complete all your New Client Intake Forms prior to your consultation, you will be in the clinic for around 90 minutes. We do ask you to allow for 120 minutes in case we require that extra time. If, however, you were unable to complete the New Client Intake Forms , we kindly request that on your first visit to the clinic that you come along a half hour early to complete these forms. Subsequent consultations are usually 60 minutes.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This will be discussed between you and your health care practitioner based on the current state of your health. Generally, for Steps 1 and 2, people notice changes within two to five visits. Some people notice a difference after the first visit. However, some people do take longer, especially if it is a long-standing problem. For Step 3, we recommend up to five sessions to assist you to start a process of becoming aware that enables you to make choices that orientate your actions towards the direction to ‘be your best’.
Changing Consultation Times
In Focus healing and wellness requires 24 hours notice for any consultation changes. On-line bookings cannot be changed 24 hours prior to your consultation. If you do have to make a change with less than 24 hours notice, we may need to consider charging you for the missed session. If this is a situation beyond your control, the consultation fee may be waived. This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
